Water Mist systems and sprinkler systems both wet the fire and the surrounding area to make the fuel less flammable and to reduce the temperature. However, only water mist systems work on the third side of the triangle to reduce the oxygen and dampen noxious fumes—and all with minimal water.

When activated, a water mist nozzle discharges high-pressure mist, filling the area and dampening surfaces to prevent fire spread. Only fire-affected nozzles activate.

The fine droplets absorb heat rapidly, dramatically lowering room temperature to stop the fire from reigniting.

As the mist turns to steam on contact with flames, it displaces oxygen, starving the fire and reducing toxic smoke.
By effectively attacking fuel, heat, and oxygen, the iMist™ system delivers comprehensive fire protection for both occupants and property.

The iMist™ system discharges a maximum of eight litres of water per minute – making it far more economical than traditional systems. Water mist systems reduce the amount of post-fire water damage and lessen the environmental impact.
On activation, the mist will quickly fill the area of operation and the microdroplets will rapidly turn to steam as they meet the flame front. This provides a second wave of attack – reducing the oxygen and effectively suffocating the fire. It is ideal for almost all property types, and especially beneficial to timber frame developments and heritage sites.
But… we kept the good bits. Our nozzle has a frangible bulb, is ceiling mounted, and runs with a wet pipe system.
