At iMist, we believe in contstant system testing, to allow us to become the best water mist system on the market, for our customers. Take a look at our efforts below.
At iMist, safety is never left to chance. Every iMist™ high-pressure water mist system undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it
performs flawlessly when it matters most.
We have worked hard to develop and perfect our high-quality iMist™ Fire Suppression products and systems, and our fire accreditations reflect that. We are delighted that these efforts are so widely recognised by the industry, UKAS accredited certification bodies and approving authorities. iMist™ meets international standards for passive fire protection systems.

iMist™ is proud to be the first company to test a water mist fire suppression system against a lithium-ion battery fire, whilst supporting firefighter training.
With the rapid growth of lithium-ion battery use, from everyday electronics to the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, understanding how to effectively suppress these types of fires has never been more important. Currently, there is very little publicly available data on how water mist performs in these scenarios.
To address this gap, we commissioned independent testing to assess the performance of our high-pressure water mist system against lithium-ion battery fires. The results provide our customers with the peace of mind that iMist™ can deliver effective protection, even against modern fire risks.
By leading the way in research and testing, iMist™ continues to set new standards for safety in domestic and residential fire suppression.

We carried out live fire scenario testing to demonstrate the difference between having an iMist™ system installed and not, whilst also supporting firefighter training.
In a side-by-side comparison, our high-pressure water mist system was put to the test against an uncontrolled fire. Without protection, the fire spread rapidly, causing severe damage within minutes. With iMist™, the system activated instantly, suppressing the flames and significantly reducing heat, smoke, and destruction.
This powerful demonstration not only showcased the life-saving benefits of our system but also provided valuable real-world training for firefighters, helping them understand how modern fire suppression technology works in action.
By conducting these demonstrations, iMist™ continues to show the life-saving potential of advanced water mist technology.

In August 23, iMist™ became the first water mist company to carry out independent acoustic testing at Southampton University, confirming that our STN12 nozzle causes minimal noise transfer through ceiling penetrations.
Unlike traditional mist and sprinkler systems, our design almost completely seals the penetration and, when paired with correct fire-stopping, creates an imperceptible opening. This makes us the only fire suppression company worldwide able to guarantee such minimal acoustic impact.
The tests concluded:
“Fitting an STN12 fire suppression nozzle does not adversely affect the acoustic performance of this type of floor/ceiling construction.”
With iMist™, you can be confident in both fire safety and sound separation, without compromise.

iMist™ is the first company to test its pipework against a fire-stopping material, proving compliance and safety.
The iMist™ STH12 stainless steel flexible hose, part of our STX12 Fire Suppression System, delivers superior flexibility, rapid installation, and lower costs than traditional CPVC pipework.
Independently tested by Warringtonfire to BS EN 1366-3:2021 and BS EN 1363-1:2020, the STH12 hose — when paired with Nullifire FS709 HP Intumescent Sealant provides up to 60 minutes fire resistance (EI 60) while maintaining full suppression performance.
Benefits:
Together, the STH12 hose and Nullifire FS709 HP set a new standard for fire-compliant watermist systems.

We partnered with Lumi-Plugin® to create the first high-pressure water mist fire suppression system built directly into a downlight. This innovation combines powerful fire safety, water and cost savings, and a sleek, discreet design that removes ceiling clutter.
At the Fire Protection Association’s Annex C laboratory, we put the new system to the test. A Lumi-Plugin® LED downlight fitted with our iMist™ nozzle and stainless steel flexible hose activated instantly when exposed to heat, releasing a fine water mist for 30 minutes. The fire was successfully suppressed, Annex C temperature limits were never breached, and the downlight remained fully functional and undamaged throughout.
Through this collaboration, iMist™ continues to push the boundaries of fire suppression innovation for homes and properties, without compromising on style.
iMist™ underwent testing to obtain a fully compliant certificate in accordance with British Standard (BS:8458). Passing each of the six different tests meant we were able to fully certify our system in all scenarios.
