Background

The Chester Hotel, located on Queens Road in Aberdeen, is an impressive example of Gothic architecture dating back to 1675. As a Grade B listed building, it presented particular challenges for fire protection, with strict requirements to preserve both the structure and its decorative features.

Solution

iMist™ was awarded the project thanks to the sympathetic and flexible nature of its water mist system. A total of 32 nozzles were partly retrofitted without the need to alter or move any existing structural or decorative elements. This careful approach ensured that the historical integrity of the building was fully respected while providing modern fire protection for the property.
