Background

iMist™ were contracted to install a fire suppression system in this newly built high-rise building. The property spans 16 floors and comprises 86 flats, designed to accommodate a large number of residents across a single vertical block.

Given the high occupancy, the building’s single means of escape posed a significant risk in the event of a fire. Building control recommended the installation of a fire suppression system to enhance resident safety and reduce risk within the building.

Solution

iMist™ designed and installed a high-pressure water mist system to protect both the individual flats and the communal areas throughout the building. The system included 102 zonal monitoring valves, providing effective coverage and allowing for quick identification of any activation within specific zones.

By protecting both private and communal spaces, the system ensures a rapid response in the event of a fire and helps maintain the safe use of the only escape route.

iMist™ will carry out annual servicing of the systems to maintain pump warranty and ensure all components are functioning as intended, providing ongoing safety and compliance.
